Willamette is the name of a Clackamas/Kalapuya village in contemporary southeast.
Multnomah means "downriver" or "lower river". [[wp>Multnomah people]] lived in multiple villages on either side. 
The Native American term for Sauvie Island was Wappatoo Island. The Multnomah people shared [[wp>Sauvie Island]] with other [[wp>Chinook peoples]] under the collective name the Cathlascans.[5] Furthermore, the Multnomah people were considered “[[wp>upper Chinook]]” and spoke the [[wp>Wasco-Wishram]] language.[6]

"The Portland Metro area rests on traditional village sites of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River. Indigenous people have created communities and summer encampments to harvest and enjoy the plentiful natural resources of the area for the last 11,000 years.  We want to recognize that Portland today is a community of many diverse Native peoples who continue to live and work here. We respectfully acknowledge and honor all Indigenous communities—past, present, future—and are grateful for their ongoing and vibrant presence." 

"We also <del>acknowledge</del> **admit and regret** the systemic policies of genocide, relocation, and assimilation that still impact many Indigenous/Native American families today. As settlers and guests on these lands, we respect the work of Indigenous leaders and families, and pledge to make ongoing efforts recognize their knowledge, creativity, and resilience"

The RCIF asks the City of Portland and Multnomah county to make the following admission:
     * We admit that neither Massachusetts Bay nor Oregon country is the "Promised land", that neither State's capitol city Salem is the "City on a Hill" of which Jesus spoke in the Sermon on the Mount, and that neither WASPs nor Roman catholics are the "Light of the world" or the "Chosen people" or the "Spiritual Israel" that they claim to be.  We admit that our white ancestors and current political leaders have used and are still using these cultural and textual misappropriations from the Jews in support of Christian dominionism.  western expansionism, manifest destiny, and now progressive liberalism.**  
The RCIF accuses the Portland Public Teachers Union, the Graduate Teaching Fellows of PSU and UofO, and others who pretend to value de-colonization of actively undermining it instead:
     * Rather than admitting this oppressive intersection of anti-Judaism and settler colonialism, many progressives perpetuate it, through anti-zionism, and anti-Israel bias, projecting their own white guilt onto Jews returning to their homeland in Palestine, and falsely accusing them.   This is either prejudiced ignorance, or else deliberate dishonesty practiced in bad faith.

The RCIF calls on christian churches, faith leaders, and para-church institutions to make these preliminary good-faith efforts and repentance and restitution.

    * repent of and renounce missionary efforts aimed at superseding and eradicating indigenous languages, forcibly converting and assimilating indigenous persons, standardizing the English bible and language (much as Rome had earlier done with its Latin vulgate, both with their anti-Jewish mis-translations, hermeneutic perversions, and suppression of the original texts in Hebrew and Greek.   
    * repent of and renounce missionary efforts aimed at superseding and eradicating Judaism by pressuring Jewish believers to renounce the holy law, convert and assimilate to gentile christianity. 
    * undertake [[Calendar reform]] and return to the natural lunisolar timekeeping, as practiced by indigenous persons around the world and as described in the "original testament" and now practiced by Jews through the Hebrew calendar.
    * De-standardization of Roman imperial and Egyptian solar calendar, reform of ISO, return to biblical and natural lunisolar calendar
    * Dismantle the ideological superstructure of Roman imperial christianity, which the new testament itself describes as "the great apostasy", the "teaching of lawlessness", and has endured even in its English protestant varieties.
    * To that end, interpret the new testament in its original para-synagogue and hebraic context, and rejecting the hermeneutic perversions that led to a tragic 1800+ years of [[antijudaism and antizionism]], which provided the justifications for an unrighteous and unstable legacy of [[imperialism and settler colonialism]] as our "inheritance"

By declining to do the analysis above, most Americans are effectively complicit with the form of "[[wp>pragmatism|pragmatic]]" christianity practiced by athiests and agnostics like [[wp>John Dewey]] and most college professors, the enlightenment thinkers, by and probably by the inventor of imperial Christianity himself, Constantine the great.  This may be one reason why the Palestinian cause is so near and dear to their hearts: they want to retain the status quo, and therefore translate the doctrines of supercession and replacement into the dialectics of critical reason and historic materialism, or idealism, or whatever.  So if they are unsuccessful at ignoring zionism as an irrelevancy, they'll rally for war of annihilation against Israel in solidarity with the athiestic PFLP/Samidoun - a post-christian Arab movement - or else treat it like a banana republic of the west, rather than tolerating an actual Jewish state.  Since this would be the most revolutionary event of the last thousand years, its existence would create a crisis of legitimacy for the political theology of Anglo-American empire, which is still "a promised land" according to MLK Jr., Barack Obama, and the Democratic party.   Jews in Europe have always been an "essential enemy", a straw man made of projective fantasies in order to prevent critical thinking about the Roman empire and is successor states, and this appears to be happening now, again.
 
Although it may occasionally fetishize the "noble savage" (devoid of his civilization), or the "black power" (devoid of his intellect or morality), or "holocaust education" (devoid of Torah or Judaism), this virtue signalling doesn't seek to change the underlying political reality, and instead reinforces it through a soft bigotry of pressure to assimilate and convert.

It is basically white supremacy, now with a diversity, equity, and inclusion program.
